Thursday, 25 January 2007

BANGKOK (ILO NEWS) - The International Labour Organization (ILO) is aware of reports on Wednesday 24th January from Cambodia concerning comments made by the Cambodian Government that reflected upon the ILO’s work in Cambodia with the garment industry.

The ILO is seeking clarification from the Cambodian Government on these reports. A letter, dated 24th January, has been sent from the ILO’s headquarters in Geneva to the Cambodian Government in Phnom Penh and we are awaiting a response.

The ILO’s work in Cambodia has been taking place in a harmonious climate and we look forward to the continuation of these positive relations and constructive cooperation.
