At its meeting in Geneva, Switzerland, the Governing Body of the International Labour Organization (ILO) has approved the holding of the 14^th Asian Regional Meeting of the ILO in Busan, Republic of Korea. The meeting will be open on Tuesday 29^th August and close on Friday 1^st September 2006.

The Asian Regional Meeting of the ILO is normally held every four years. It brings together the political, economic and social actors from the countries of the Asia-Pacific region.

The International Labour Organization is the United Nations body concerned with work and work-place issues. It was founded in 1919, with a unique structure that brings together Governments, employers’ and workers’ organizations. It has 178 member states.
