An exhibition of prize-winning
photos on the theme of decent work for persons with
disabilities will open in Bangkok this week.
The show comprises winning and
short-listed pictures from the 2007 Decent Work for Persons
with Disabilities photo contest. Nearly 250 pictures were
entered, from 19 countries throughout Asia and the Pacific.
The aim of the exhibition is to highlight the ability of
persons with disabilities to work productively, support
themselves and make a valuable contribution to society.
It also seeks to focus attention on their rights, particularly
their right to decent work.
