Project Overview
Advocacy :
Advocacy   ILO-TICW-Phase II is increasing its advocacy work through greater outreach to specific groups at risk of trafficking, and working with our constituents – Governments, Workers and Employers groups – NGOs and other partners to educate and mobilize society. The project is actively working with other UN Agencies and is taking part in a joint-advocacy initiative with Save the Children UK to promote greater participation of children in the fight against human trafficking in the GMS.
This second phase places a considerable emphasis on the execution of advocacy and information campaigns to counter demand in receiving/destination areas. In order to properly monitor and evaluate the effect of advocacy interventions, attitudinal and behavioral baseline surveys are being carried out in major sending and receiving areas. Again, particularly close attention is given to the views of children and women. This research is supported by the work of ILO regional and sub-regional experts, our partners and stakeholders, at village, county and national level.

The advocacy ranges from mass media campaigns to group and one-on-one contact. The participatory views of children and young people play a leading role in the campaigns.
