FOREWORD
The national tripartite workshop on occupational safety and health (OSH) in Thailand, conducted in Rayong Province (4-6 July 2000), was preceded by
a previous national OSH workshop, in Pattaya, Chonburi Province (26-28 May 1999), and
a national tripartite workshop on chemical safety and prevention of major industrial accidents, in Chiang Mai Province (22 - 24 December 2000).
The Rayong series of tripartite presentations, panel discussions, and group discussions aimed at a more effective tripartite cooperation leading to more efficient OSH implementation, especially with regard to
the enactment of an OSH Act in Thailand, and
ratification of the ILO Convention on Occupational Safety and Health, 1981 (No.155).
We wish to extend thanks to everyone who contributed to the following report. It is hoped that the achievements outlined below will be reflected in successful implementation of the relevant recommendations by the concerned organizations.
