Objectives

The ILO aims to share the outcomes, lessons learned and recommendations of the assessment of the concluding project “Skills Development, Employment Services and Local Economic Recovery for the Construction Sector” with partners and stakeholders. The workshop will also present eight new vocational training curricula, updated using the expertise of international and local experts, as well as discuss future activities to ensure the project’s sustainability.

Launched in 2008 in South Lebanon with the objective of creating greater opportunities for women and men to secure decent employment and income in the aftermath of the 2006 war, the project has undertaken the provision of employment-oriented, accelerated modular skills training programmes for priority jobs in the construction sector.
