  • Discuss recent trends, exchange experiences, and identify good practices and policy responses to the global financial and economic crisis through decent work policies;
  • Engage in tripartite social dialogue to identify key employment challenges at the national and sub-regional levels for the Arab region;
  • Build tripartite consensus around decent and employment-friendly recovery policies for the region;
  • Reinforce commitments to all decent work objectives, including national commitments made in the framework of Decent Work Country Programmes;
  • Harmonize goals to ensure that regional implementation of the Global Jobs Pact remains aligned with Arab regional conclusions, namely those of the Arab Forum on Development and Employment, and the Arab Economic Summit.
