The Training and Rural Development
site tries to give an account of the training activities carried
out in the rural sector in Latin America and the Caribbean, as well
as of the programmes and projects related to the economic and social
development of rural populations.
The role that regional rural training
institutions are called to play goes way beyond mere technical training
for working in the rural environment. It also includes, for example,
the actions concerned with rural population's effective exercise
of their citizenship, health care of rural male and female workers,
and the environment, research and technological development care
to be incorporated in production activities, among others.
Rural training institutions have, in sum, a strategic role to play
in the economic and social development of rural areas and countries
in general. More
