The Brazilian Agricultural Research Corporation, which is linked to the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply of Brazil, was established in 1973 and since then it has generated and recommended technology for the agroindustrial sector. EMBRAPA's mission is to work for the sustainable development of Brazilian agribusiness through the generation, adaptation and transfer of knowledge and technology to benefit society. By networking through 37 research centres and three service centres, located in every Brazilian state, EMBRAPA is responsible for the coordination of the National Agricultural Research System.

    - Subsecretary of Rural Development
Two types of programmes stand out among the rural development programmes developed by the Secretary of Agriculture, Livestock, Rural Development, Fisheries and Food of Mexico: basic programmes and specific programmes. The former are implemented with a new strategic approach to support the value productive chain and not only the primary activity, while integral productive projects - not only specific components - are promoted. On the other hand, specific programmes are those devoted to offering support to rural organisations and low-income rural producers.

Plazas comunitarias rurales (Rural community centres)

The rural community centres are educational spaces where youth and adults with no basic education find an integral offer that encompasses educational content and training for work. They have a wide range of resources such as printed educational material, IT resources, Internet and Intranet technology, digital library, audiovisual resources, etc.

They are open to all community members so that the use of IT and television resources may facilitate their access to a global knowledge of humanity. To fulfil their objectives they have 3 educational spaces: a room for taught courses, a room for educational T.V. and an IT room with study and learning resources.
