INSAFORP SUPPORTS IMPLEMENTATION OF
ISO 9000
With a view to making enterprises operating in El Salvador more competitive,
the Salvadorian Vocational Training Institute (INSAFORP) is lending
support to the programme "System for Quality Management and Implementation
in Industrial, Commercial and Service Activities" that was launched
last year.
The Programme consists of applying the ISO 9000 standard to participating
companies, that are INGENIO LA CABAÑA, CAJAS Y BOLSAS, CAJAS
PLEGADIZAS, SABESA, MELHER, PLANTOSA, PASTIMET, PROTECNO, TALLERES SARTI
and FRANCISCO GAVIDIA UNIVERSITY, in which a total of 1225 persons are
beneficiaries, including Managers, Middle Managers and Operatives.
The project comprises 5877 hours' training spread over three stages
(Induction to Quality System, Quality System Design, and Training for
System Implementation) which are expected to conclude by November this
year. INSAFORP is covering 70 per cent of the total cost of this Programme.
This training will enable participating companies to introduce changes
in their organisational structure, increase their exports, modify or
redistribute new productive processes, find openings in new markets,
generate new products, etc.
All beneficiary enterprises are undergoing certification processes
with international organisations.
