This publication of a new contribution by David Viñar
has a dual purpose: on the one hand, to provide the reader with a
detailed description of the historical evolution of the occupational
training services dependent on the Education Secretariat of the Government
of the City of Buenos Aires (Spanish acronym SEGCBA), Argentina; on
the other hand to offer the results of a kind of research in training
that is unusual in our region, and that the Centre feels has great
potential for gathering and analysing information.
The results are shown of a study of the data collected through the
education module of the permanent households survey (EPH) of the Greater
Buenos Aires urban cluster. The novelty of this research approach
is not so much the possibility of generalising the conclusions of
the households survey, but specially the fact that it includes a module
on attendance to manpower training courses.
