Cooperation between Cinterfor/ILO and
the European Training Foundation
On July 24, Antonio Graziosi, Director a.i. of Cinterfor , visited
the European Training Foundation (ETF) in Turin, Italy. Working on behalf
of the EU, the ETF assists the EU partner countries in developing quality
education and training systems and in putting them into practice. It
was originally meant to assist Central and Eastern Europe countries,
but it has been extending its scope of action to the Middle East and
South Africa. Upon the European Union's request, ETF is currently examining
a regulation that will enable them to broaden their geographical reach.
It is expected that this regulation will be approved during the year
2008.
Mr. Graziosi met ETF Director Muriel Dunbar and a team of experts of
the Foundation. Until the process of review of their mandate is not
finished, ETF will not be able to assume formal engagements with Cinterfor.
However, experts of the Foundation showed great interest in sharing
knowledge and experiences with Cinterfor, for example concerning regional
meetings and the design of a work plan.
