HEART Trust/NTA, with the technical support of ILO/Cinterfor and
the ILO International Training Centre (Turin), and the collaboration
of the Caribbean Association of National Training Agencies (CANTA),
is organizing the workshop "Information and Communication Technologies
in National and Regional Training Systems" which will take place
in Kingston, Jamaica, from February 12 to 15, 2008.
The objectives of the Workshop are:
To explore and discuss the role of ICTs in national and regional
training systems, drawing from the experiences of Caribbean and Latin
American countries.
To discuss the potential use of ICTs in the development of the Caribbean
Vocational Qualifications, and the role of ICTs in the transparency
and use of Caribbean Vocational Qualifications (CVQs).
To define specific measures and tools for knowledge sharing in the
field of ICTs in training among the participating countries and institutions.
To equip teachers/facilitators with the skill to integrate technology
in instructional delivery.
To provide inputs for the planning of the interaction and cooperation
between the National Training Agencies represented in CANTA and Cinterfor/ILO
as regards the use of ICTs in training.
To establish a guiding coalition of ICT integration specialists
for the Caribbean and provide technical support to ICT integration
initiatives for the region.
The workshop will count with presenters and resource persons from
the following organizations:

- SENAI, Brazil
- SENA, Colombia
- ILO/Cinterfor
- ILO International Training Centre
