SENAI Programme on Teaching Resources
Sharing knowledge to improve teaching
SENAI Programme on Teaching Resources is a group of integrated actions
promoted by SENAI National Department in order to support the task of
teachers. The Programme is based on the belief of sharing quality teaching
materials among Regional Departments and promoting the use of such materials
by educators.
The Programme intends to gather all the teaching resources of SENAI
units in databases that education professionals of SENAI can access,
thus improving their teaching process.
According to SENAI, a teaching resource can be any material that may
be used by teachers before, during of after class with the purpose of
improving or enhancing their teaching.
The Programme is based on two premises:
- Collaborative action: shared teaching resources are made available
by Regional Departments. Therefore, each user's collaboration is key
to the success of the plan;
- Quality and updated nature of materials: available teaching materials
should have quality and up-to-date patterns that may contribute to the
improvement of educational actions.
Programme lines of action
Teaching Resources Bank
The Teaching Resources Bank is a virtual place available on the Internet
that facilitates consultation, downloading and inclusion of teaching
materials by Regional Departments. As from the launching of SENAI's
Programme on Teaching Resources, the National Department extended the
possibilities of improvement provided by this Bank to all Regional Departments.
The access to the Teaching Resources Bank is limited to SENAI teachers
registered as users of the system.
Teaching Resources Assessment
The project of Teaching Resources Assessment has the purpose of ensuring
the quality and the updating of materials available in the Teaching
Resources Bank. Materials proposed to be included in the Bank are studied
in their technical, pedagogical and standardisation aspects. Materials
that agree with the established criteria receive the Seal of SENAI's
Programme on Teaching Resources. Assessment teams are formed by collaborators
of several Regional Departments.
Teacher and Assessor Training
SENAI's Programme on Teaching Resources will carry out actions together
with Regional Departments to train teachers in the use of the Bank.
The first of these actions is the production and distribution of a CD
containing the tutorial file with step-by-step guidelines to the use
of this tool for all teachers. Some training actions have also been
planned to be addressed to the collaborators that will integrate assessment
teams.
