Besides the challenge of having a place in the International Tournament
of Vocational Training of Japan in 2007, the Knowledge Olympics was
the springboard to an exhibition of inventions developed by students
and teachers of SENAI. The Innovar Exhibition, for example, received
23 projects of technological innovation in 6 Brazilian States, such
as Pernambuco, San Pablo and Santa Catarina.
The Pernambuco team presented a system of intelligent turn on for electric
engines of industrial assembly lines. According to the group's leader,
Professor Fredson Oliveira Silva, the device facilitates the rational
use of time, increases the quality of the samples produced and offers
more security in equipment handling.
One of the São Paulo projects that most caught the attention
was a hydraulic system for sanitary vessels that allows to reduce up
to 720 litres in water consumption per person each month. The system
can be activated by two buttons: one for the cleaning of solid waste
and the other one for liquid waste. "In the first case it produces
a six-litre water discharge. For liquid waste, the discharge only takes
two litres", explained Professor Luiz Carlos Gonçalves Tinoco.
The product saves up to 57 per cent of the water expense per month.
SENAI students in Santa Catarina presented 8 projects in the Exhibition.
The pieces of work had stood out in other contests, such as the National
Creativity Fair for students of technical courses (Fenacri). One of
the projects exhibited was a speed control device for computer fans.
The equipment avoids computer overheating. The population of Santa Catarina
also presented a three-dimensional simulator that reproduces the movements
of a mechanic arm on three dimensions on a computer screen. This software
enables students to work on the area without accident risks, financial
damage or materials waste.
