SENAI
introduces courses on hotel industry management on the Internet
Training
Virtual Centre on Tourism works through a website on the Internet
What about upgrading
your knowledge and acquiring new occupational qualifications with direct
contact with a teacher and exchange of experiences with other professionals
in Brazil and overseas without getting out of your home?
This is the opportunity SENAI do Ceará is offering for those
in the hotel and tourism sector, since the second semester of last year
when the Centro Virtual de Educacao para o Turismo, CVCT, (Virtual Centre
for Education on Tourism) was created.
The CVCT works through
a website and holds courses of continuing training in Hotel Industry
Management and Marketing, as well as courses on Beverages and Food,
which will start in March. It is also developing courses on Human Resources
Management, Accounting and Accommodations.
The students follow
up the course on the website using tools such as forums and e-mails
to discuss and exchange experiences with other students and teachers.
Discussions based on real cases and clarifications of doubts take place
in lively chats on the Internet.
The courses on line
make possible that students study on their available time without the
need for travelling. This helps students that do not live in big urban
centres where the offer of courses is smaller. Also, since students
are scattered in different cities, the exchange of experiences on tourist
and hotel industry reality is richer.
The development
of the courses is structured around reality. The team of professionals
involved in the project - that includes professionals of nation-wide
recognition, such as Jan von Bahr from the Caesar Park Hotel, Katia
Redig, Director of the Atlantica Hotels International, and Ana Oliveira,
Hotel Consultant who works in enterprises as the Blue Tree network -
knows the sector and seeks to create activities in which students have
to solve problems that are present in the day to day life of Brazilian
hotels. The professor Doris Ruschmann (PhD) co-ordinates the team responsible
of the didactic material that supports students in the solution of the
proposed activities.
Aside from the courses,
the website offers other services for those linked to the world of tourism
such as suggestions on books, events calendars, news on tourism appeared
in the main newspapers of the country and a CV list where professionals
can list themselves and enterprises can seek personnel.
