An enterprising fair to show. Agrosena 2006

With the exhibition of more than 50 productive projects on 15, 16 and 17 June, the Third Agrosena Fair 2006 was carried out at the Multisectoral Centre of Mosquera (Km. 7 direction City Council). It seeks to disseminate and show the manner in which SENA of Cundimara works with students from the rural sector in its five training sectors. Through business exhibitions it intends to show how it works in pursue of a culture of innovation, technological development and entrepreneurship oriented to the rural sector.

During the three days of the event, students from these training centres and the City Councils of the department that deals with the regional office presented innovating business projects, such as fruit flavoured cheese, a project to automatise and improve the quality of production of Chinese root, extreme sports holiday packages, an energy biogenerator, production and trade of red tilapia in channels, genetic improvement through eggs of Holstein livestock, lentil-based products to replace meat's proteins, etc.

The students who presented their work were trained in programmes such as Rural Youth; SENA-Empresas C.M. Mosquera Project; Units of Entrepreneurship Programme at Training Centres; Sectoral Working Groups (flowers, rubber, livestock); Flower-growing School Projects, SENA-Asocoflores agreements and projects and exhibition of agreements signed by this Regional office with training-for-work entities (BOSCONA).

In that place, recreation and academic activities were run and complemented with a country walk that visitors to the Multisectoral Centre of Mosquera could make. In addition, they could visit the horse academic exhibition, the presentation of new curricular structures, a micro credit brigade, the exhibition of floating classrooms in agribusiness, the presentation of projects of the National Reincorporation Programme and a delicious gastronomic show by the students who made it to the finals of the gastronomy Olympics and rural tourism projects of Cundinamarca, among other activities.

The event also seeks to attract investors, suppliers and purchasers of the agricultural sector in order to create and enhance associating enterprises developed and strengthened by SENA's students. In that same place representatives from private enterprises, banking and any organisation interested in interacting with young entrepreneurs were present. Agrosena 2006 becomes a scenario where vocational training will be enhanced, from the permanent application of new technologies and their development in productive chains.

The five centres that belong to the Regional office are the Multisectoral Centre of Mosquera, the Multisectoral Centre of Girardot, the Multisectoral Centre of Fusagasuga, the Multisectoral Centre of the North-East of Cundinamarca (in Chía) and Multisectoral Centre of the West of Cundinamarca (in Villeta), together with the students trained by SENA in the township of Soacha, where the next centre of the regional office will be opened.
