| The National Institute of Technical
- Vocational Training (INFOTEP) was created by law 116 from January,
16th, 1980 and is regulated by regulation 1894 August 11th
1984. It is an autonomous organization with legal status and non-profit-making
objectives and own patrimony. It is the agency that guides
and oversees the vocational training for the productive work of
the country.
The Law that created it defines the mission of INFOTEP. This
law states that INFOTEP is created to give education for work
to young and adults. It focuses its efforts in preparing manpower
to satisfy the national productive needs.
The principal function of INFOTEP IS TO COORDINATE AND SUPERVISE
THE National System of Vocational Training with the purpose
of encouraging the developing of the work force and to facilitate
the connection to productive tasks.
It is directed by a board of directors of tripartite structure,
integrated by representatives of the state, the enterprises
and workers and administrated by a general direction
Its goals are:
- To organize and direct the national system of technical
and vocational training that with the joint effort of the
state, workers and employers focus in the full development
of the human resources and the increase of enterprise productivity
in all sectors of economic activity.
- To encourage the social promotion of workers through integral
training to enable them to be responsible citizens, with moral
and cultural values necessary to the national harmony.
