The National Technological Institute -INATEC-
is an autonomous institution, created by presidential decree
3-91, January 1991, with the aim of contributing to the social
and economic development of the Nicaraguan people through the
training of qualified human resources in all economic sectors
and in all levels of occupations and employment.
The vision of INATEC is to develop a system of vocational
training with the participation of the private sector. This
system should allow for the training of citizens and help the
country face its productive needs in global world.
The purposes of INATEC are:
- To further the coherent and harmonious development of the qualified
technical resources that the Nicaraguan socio economic development
requires through the gradual and continuous integration of
technical skills, habits, attitudes and ethical, social and
cultural values that give the individual the faculty to enter
the world of work, exercise efficiently his/her labour activity
and have and active and critical participation, both in the
labour context and the social context where he/she lives.
- To cover the needs for vocational training existent in the country according
with the requirements of the national productive sector and
the individual interests of people.
The goals are:
- To define the national policies on vocational training
- To administrate, organize, plan, execute, control and evaluate the activities
of the system of vocational training as part of the national
educational system.
- To further the coherent and harmonious development of the qualified
human resources that the socio-economic development of the
country requires.
- To develop the vocational training in direct relation with the requirements
of the economic sectors and the individual interests of people.
