celebrated its 41 birthday
High authorities from the government, ministers, vice-ministers, former

training to Costa Rican people and it has succeeded in training more
than two million three thousand people.

able to run more than 1,600 different courses across the national territory.
According to INA's Founder Mr. Alfonso Carro, "today, Costa Rica
is different from the Costa Rica of 1965 when INA was founded; however,
it has always been in the hands of people who have always been very
good at interpreting the training needs of the country".
"INA has known how to respond and contribute to the social peace
we are now enjoying", stated Mr. Alfonso, who was awarded the Honour
Medal to his Merit, a medal that will also bear his name.
President of the Republic, Oscar Arias Sánchez was also present,
and visibly moved he stated that "it is not possible to improve
the life quality of Costa Rican people without increasing the educational
level of the population", a task INA has been developing over these
41 years. According to Mr. President it is necessary to have an articulated
educational system directed to meet the needs of the labour market.
