Amri-Makhetha Ms. Amri-Makhetha, a Tanzanian national, joined the ILO/SAMAT in February 2000. With the Team, her responsibilities lie primarily in promoting gender equality in the World of Work. Ms Makhetha brings to the Team accumulated years of experience in technical and programming work of the ILO. She has worked extensively in various capacities in the Southern Africa sub-Region including the Lusaka Area Office where she was Programme Officer and Deputy Director from 1983 to 1994, Windhoek from 1994 -1995 as the Special Adviser for ILO Activities in Namibia, and Pretoria Area Office from 1995 to 2000 as Deputy Director. Her current assignment of Senior Gender Specialist covers English Speaking sub-Sahara Africa from Southern, East and West Africa - a total of 22 Countries.
