The services in this field generally have the aim of encouraging the involvement of workers and their organizations in the activities of the ILO with particular emphasis on socio-economic issues on structural adjustment, privatization, democratization, tripartism, collective bargaining, employment, human resource development, migration, environment and occupational health and safety, while ensuring that related ILO projects and programmes address the needs of workers and their organizations. Assistance is also provided to workers'organizations in attempts to improve their structure and operations, and through such measures promote their participation in tripartite initiatives directed at defending and promoting the interest of workers.
