Employers' Activities


The services in this field generally have the aim of assisting employers' organizations to build a capacity to serve their members better and to effectively participate in national development matters with particular emphasis on socio-economic issues on structural adjustment, privatization, democratization, tripartism, employment, human resource development, migration, environment and occupational health and safety, while ensuring that related ILO projects and programmes address the needs of employers and their organizations. Support is also provided to employers' organizations with the aim of improving their structure and operations, and through such measures promote their participation in tripartite initiatives and social dialogue directed at defending and promoting the interests of employers. Additionally, we encourage the involvement of employers and their organizations in the activities of the ILO.

  Key areas to be covered in the employers’ activities include:

  • Productivity, enterprise competitiveness and globalization
  • Enterprise promotion and employment generation
  • ILO Conventions and the Declaration
  • Strategic planning for employers’ organizations
