Presentation of ILO Tools and Programmes in Job
Creation through Entrepreneurship Development, 25-31 August 2007
Two one-day workshops were organized by
SRO-Cairo, in collaboration with relevant ILO specialized units from Geneva, the
ILO Turin Training Centre and the Regional Office for Africa (Addis Ababa). The
workshops were held in Khartoum and Juba, and were attended by government
officials from key ministries, the Association of Sudanese Employers, the
National Cooperative Union, the Sudanese Workers Trade Unions Federation,
international agencies, key NGOs and the donor community.
Topics on the agenda
included the ILO approach to micro, small and medium
enterprise (MSME) development and Business Development Service promotion, as
well as the following Training of Trainers (TOT) tools:
- Know About Business (KAB)
- Start and Improve Your Business (SIYB)
- Expand Your Business (EYB)
- Gender and Enterpreneurship Together (Get Ahead)
- Growth Oriented Women Entrepreneurs (GOWE)
- Local Economic Development (LED)
- Microfinance and Microcredit (MF/MC)
