National Tripartite Symposium tackles job crisis through Decent Work and Social Dialogue 23 April 2009 - The President of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, H.E. Girma Wolde Giorgis opened the first national tripartite symposium on “Mitigating the present economic and job crisis through decent work and social dialogue” held under the auspices of the International Labour Organization (ILO) in Addis Ababa.
ILO Director-General to visit the African Union in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia 22 April 2008 - The Director-General of the International Labour Organization (ILO), Mr. Juan Somavia, will pay an official visit to Addis Ababa, Ethiopia from April 23-25 to attend the Sixth Ordinary Session of the Labour and Social Affairs Commission (LSAC) of the African Union (AU).

Children and Children Aid Ethiopia, to observe the World Day against Child Labour, 12 June

The ILO donates computers and printers to the Confederation of Ethiopian Trade Unions 02 September 2008 - The International Labour Organisation Sub Regional Office for Eastern
Africa (ILO SRO) today handed over a laptop and two printers worth USD
3000.00 (three thousand US dollars) to the Confederation of Ethiopian
Trade Unions (CETU) which is part of a local capacity programme
coordinated by the ILO Bureau for Workers’ Activities (ACTRAV).
