| The ILO
programme on HIV/AIDS has the objective to: |
| |
raise awareness of the
economic and social impact of AIDS in the world of work
help governments,
employers and workers to support national efforts to prevent the
spread and reduce the impact of HIV/AIDS
fight discrimination
and stigma related to HIV status
assist social
partners, government, and public and private enterprises, to cope
with the impact of HIV/AIDS on the labour force and economy |
ILO works towards harmonising
national workplace standards in the areas of HIV/AIDS with ILO's
Code of Practice on HIV/AIDS and the World of Work.
ILO provides technical support to partners
and other organisations to develop workplace policy guidelines. For
this purpose, the ILO Code of Practice has been translated into
Amharic. |
