  The European Commission, ILO Brussels and the ILO Regional Office for Africa organized this seminar to promote the mutual understanding of ILO and EC participants of the decent work agenda and the ESIP strategy (employment, social inclusion and protection).

  Global Report on Forced Labour, The Cost of Coercion
  

  The new ILO Global Report on Forced Labour entitled, "The cost of coercion", will be launched worldwide on Tuesday 12 May 2009. A media launch will be held in Addis Ababa, 11:00 am, UNCC small briefing room. A fact sheet on Africa, a press release, a Q and A, an executive summary as well as the report will be available upon request.

  Preparatory meeting of Experts on the 1st African Decent Work Symposium on "Together addressing the implications of the financial and economic crisis on Africa’s peoples"
  More than 60 senior representatives of governments, workers’ and employers’ organizations as well as academicians and international officials, gather in Addis Ababa on 27-28 February to discuss a wide range of implications of the financial and economic crisis on Africa's peoples.

  SPECIAL MEETING on An African Perspective to the ILO Declarationon Social Justice for a Fair Globalization
  High-level representatives of the governments, workers and employers of the International Labour Organization (ILO) as well as ILO Directors in Africa held a two-day special meeting to look at an African perspective to the 2008 Declaration on Social Justice for a Fair Globalization.

  Eleventh African Regional Meeting
  Every four years the ILO African Regional Meeting brings together ILO's tripartite constituents from its 53 Member States in Africa to discuss developments in the world of work in Africa and provide guidance for the work of the ILO in the region in the following years. The 11th African Regional Meeting took place at the United Nations Conference Centre in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia from 23 to 27 April 2007.
