      Training of Trainings (TOT) workshop for Labour Officers on Human Trafficking and Forced Labour
      ILO Country Office, Abuja together with the Federal Ministry of Labour and Productivity organized a 3 day Training of Trainers (TOT) workshop for labour officers at Lagos Airport Hotel, Ikeja – Lagos. The workshop aimed to build capacities of Labour Officers and Inspectors to enable them identify forced labour, human trafficking and smuggling activities and what appropriate actions to take.

      Regional Action Plan for the Elimination of Child labour in ECOWAS countries
      The Regional Action Plan (RAP) for the elimination of child labour in ECOWAS Countries designed by the ILO and the ECOWAS Commission - is being discussed at the experts’ level (ILO, ECOWAS, key stakeholders) for formulation of effective policy recommendations to be implementedin the sub-region.

      Training of Judges and Prosecutors on Human Trafficking and Forced Labour
      The ILO, Abuja Country Office in collaboration with National Agency for the Prohibition of Traffic in Persons and other related matters (NAPTIP), Italy within the ambit of the EU funded project “Enhancing the cooperation to fight trafficking in human beings from Nigeria and Europe (ECTIP)” held a training workshop for Judges and prosecutors at Eemjm Hotels and Suites, Uyo, Akwa Ibom Sate, South South of Nigeria.

      Meeting of Nigerian National Referral Mechanism (NRM) Task Force
      ILO Country Office, Abuja in collaboration with National Agency for the Prohibition of Traffic in Persons and other related matters (NAPTIP) organized a 1 – day meeting for NRM Task Force members. Participants drawn from government institutions, CSOs, international organizations and ECOWAS met to have a brain storming session on the formation of a referral mechanism for the protection and provision of assistance to victims of trafficking.
