The primary objective of the
ILO is to promote opportunities for women and men to obtain
productive and decent
work , in conditions of freedom, equity, security and
human dignity.
The Programme of the ILO
The ILO action is based on four strategic objectives
which constitute the basic orientations of Programme & Budget 2000-2001:
* Promote and realize Fundamental
Principles and Rights at Work
* Create greater opportunities
for women and men to
secure decent employment and incomes
* Enhance the coverage and
effectiveness of social
protection for all
* Strengthen tripartism
and social dialogue
