  • image Campaign on Social Security and Coverage for All
    Only one in five people in the world has adequate social security coverage. The other four need it too, but somehow must manage without. Governments, employers' and workers' organizations considered that the highest priority should be given to "policies and initiatives that bring social security to those who are not covered by existing systems". At the International Labour Conference in June 2001, they asked the ILO to launch a Global Campaign on Social Security and Coverage for All.

  • 17 April 2007, Luxembourg
    Launch of the Global Social Trust pilot project
    Solidarité Syndicale, the NGO of the Confédération syndicale indépendante of Luxembourg (OGB-L), the International Labour Office (ILO) and the Government of Ghana represented by its Ministry of Health, have entered into an agreement to implement the Global Social Trust (GST) pilot project in Ghana. This pilot project will provide a cash benefit to poor pregnant women and mothers with children under the age of five in Ghana. The Global Social Trust pilot project is being launched to initiate the contribution collection in Luxembourg.

    This conference is a forum for decision-makers, stakeholders, international scientific organizations, institutions for development, knowledge transfer and education and NGOs, as well as internationally active private companies with the intention of sharing their best practices and to introduce their knowledge, products and technologies for sustainable health, hygiene and environment.
