      Information session on Quatrain Africa - Financial governance for social protection governors, managers and actuarial modellers
      QUATRAIN Africa is a project funded by German RBSA to strengthen the policy and delivery of social protection in Africa. The project focusses on the development of national capacities at the institutional level for tripartite representatives, policy makers, social protection scheme managers and budgeting and actuarial modellers of social security schemes.

      Inter-regional Tripartite Meeting on The Future of Social Security in Arab States
      One of the main objectives of the meeting is to concretize the recommendations of the ILO Asian and African Regional Meetings (in 2006 and 2007) on social security and provide orientation for the action of the International Labour Office in the framework of its Global Campaign for the Extension of Social Security till 2015.

      Tripartite seminar on The future of social protection in Latin America
      The Tripartite regional meeting in Chile organized by the Regional Office Lima, the SRO Santiago and the Social Security Department will address the issues of the future of social protection in the region and the elaboration of a plan of action for medium to long term development of social security in the region. The regional meeting takes place in the framework of the mandate given to the ILO by the International Labour Conference (2001), the objectives of the Decent Work agenda (2006) and the Millennium Development Goals.

      Launch of the Global Social Trust pilot project
      Solidarité Syndicale, the NGO of the Confédération syndicale indépendante of Luxembourg (OGB-L), the International Labour Office (ILO) and the Government of Ghana represented by its Ministry of Health, have entered into an agreement to implement the Global Social Trust (GST) pilot project in Ghana. This pilot project will provide a cash benefit to poor pregnant women and mothers with children under the age of five in Ghana.
