    The ILO Brussels Office featured World Day for Safety and Health at Work in its electronic news bulletin, which is sent on a monthly basis to its correspondants. See also "Belgium."
  • Theme Report Session
    Organized by: ILO-Bejing, the State Administration of Work Safety (SAWS) of the People's Republic of China , the All-China Federation of Trade Unions (ACFTU) and the China Enterprise Confederation (CEC)
    A theme report session on managing risks in the work environment was held the morning of the 28th of April in Beijing. The event was co-sponsored by International Labour Organization, the State Administration of Work Safety (SAWS) of the People´s Republic of China, the All-China Federation of Trade Unions (ACFTU) and the China Enterprise Confederation (CEC). This was the fifth year in the row that the ILO organized the observation of World Day on Safety and Health at Work in China. Mr. Bai Ran, Executive Director-General of International Cooperation Department, SAWS presided over the Session. Mr. Huang Yi (Director-General of the Policy and Legislation Department and Spokesperson of SAWS), Ms. Constance Thomas (Director of ILO Office for China and Mongolia), Mr. Wang Zhonghan (Director-General of the Labour Protection Department of the ACFTU), and Mr. Li Mingxing, Director-General of the CEC made opening speeches.   • Celebration
    Organized by: ILO, Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs (MoLSA), Confederation of Ethiopian Trade Unions (CETU), Ethiopian Employers Confederation (EEF), and the Ethiopian Horticulture Producer Exporters Association (EHPEA)
    With the launch of the TCRAM project, "Enhancing the productivity, competitiveness and market access through decent work of the floriculture sector of Ethiopia," the tripartite partners have agreed that this year's World Day shall be commemorated at a flower farm. This represents the booming flower sectory in the country. The event will be held at the ET Highland flower farm, which is located 25 kms south of Addis Ababa. Approximately 250 to 300 guests, including government officials, employers, flower farm owners, employees, academics, researchers, local community members, local administration representatives and local school members, will attend the event, which will take 2.5 hours.   • Celebration and Press Conference
    Organized by: ILO Office in Italy, Italian Workers' Compensation Authority (INAIL) and the President of the Italian Republic
    A celebration dedicated to those who have died at work will take place at the Italian Workers´ Compensation Authority (INAIL). At the celebration, the President of the Republic, Napolitano, will present the families of victims with a medal of recognition. Related materials, including the ILO Director General's statement and a fact sheet, will be distributed during the press conference. See also "Italy."
  • Media Briefing
    Organized by: ILO Subregional Office (SRO) for Central and Eastern Europe
    The ILO Subregional Office for Central and Eastern Europe will organize a media briefing for journalists on the 28th of April in Moldova. See also "Moldova."
  • Workshop and Commemorative Ceremony
    Organized by: ILO Subregional Office (SRO) Bangkok
    Government officials (including directors), workers, and employers will attend the workshop and ceremony. See also "Thailand."
  • Events
    The ILO Ankara Office will attend the annual events organized by the Directorate General of Occupational Safety and Health of the Ministry of Labour and Social Security as part of "National OSH Week" during the first week of May. See also "Turkey."
  • Awards
    Organized by: ILO Office, Dar es Salaam
    Awards will be presented to companies who have implemented exemplary occupational safety and health activities/practices at their workplaces. See also "Tanzania."
  • Exhibtions

    The ILO Office, Dar es Salaam, will hold exhibitions in the Mbeya region (one of the southern highland regions in the country). See also "Tanzania."
  • Media
    Organized by: ILO Office, Dar es Salaam
    Several media media houses will organize news and feature articles on World Day for Safety at Health at Work. Additionally, television and radio interviews are under preparation. Among the experts who will be interviewed are: the ILO Director, the Occupational Safety and Health Director in Tanzania, and Workers' and Employers' representatives. Lastly, a press conference will be held on the 27th of April, 2008. See also "Tanzania."
  • Major Occupational Safety and Health Meeting
    Organized by: ILO Subregional Office (SRO) for Central and Eastern Europe
    The President of Ukraine (Victor Yushchenko), ILO Senior Specialist (Anne Knowles) and the Director of the International Organization of Employers (Antonio Penalosa) will attend the event held on the 22nd of April. The other 270 participants will come from companies, trade unions and various governmental departments. See also "Ukraine."
  • Seminar
    Organized by: ILO Office in Viet Nam and the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs (Bureau for Work Safety)
    The ILO Office in Viet Nam, in conjunction with the Viet Nam Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs, will hold a seminar on "Occupational Safety and Health Training Policy," on the 28th of April. Approximately 50 participants are expected. The seminar will take place bewteen 8:30 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. in the Niko Hotel, which is located at 84 Tran Nhan Tong in Ha Noi. See also "Vietnam."
