For the first time, the International Commission on Occupational Health (ICOH) has issued a 28th of April Statement pointing to the globalization of work life and the new occupational safety and health challenges in the north and south for International Organizations, National Authorities, Trade Unions, Employers and Occupational Health and Safety Professionals. The statement is signed by the entire executive of ICOH, including its President, Professor Jorma Rantanen. The statement emphasized that research, training and education are needed as part of a knowledge base about problems and solutions through best practice. The statement also stressed the importance of promoting professional ethics of experts and other actors in working life. ICOH wants to promote basic human rights and justice for all working people and the professional independence of occupational health and safety experts.
