- Occupational Safety and Health Month
Guyana celebrates the entire month of April as Occupational Safety and Health Month. A variety of activites are planned, in collaborating with social partners at the national and enterprise levels.
- Workshop
Organized by: Guyana Trades Union Congress
During the 21st of April and the 22nd of April, the Guyana Trades Union Congress will conduct an HIV/AIDS and occupational safety and health workshop for general secretaries. The workshop will include sensitization lectures on the role of unions in regards to occupational safety and health committees. Affiliated unions with conduct their individual training programmes on safety and health and HIV/AIDS.
- Seminar and Banners
Organized by: Guyana Telephone & Telelgraph Company Ltd.
The Guyana Telephone & Telegraph Company Ltd. will hold an occupational safety and health and HIV/AIDS seminar for its employees. Additionally, it will mount banners on building in order to raise awareness.
- Seminar and Presentation
Organized by: Georgetown Chamber of Commerce
The Georgetown Chamber of Commerce will hold a one day seminar on the 23rd of April. Additionally, on the 15th of April, it will prepare a presentation on occupational safety and health for members.
- Lecture, New Policy and Competition
Organized by: The New Guyana Pharmaceutical Corporation Inc.
The New Guyana Pharmaceutical Corporation will hold a lecture on HIV/AIDS as well as draft a new HIV/AIDS policy for the workplace. Lastly, the Corporation will organize a competition for employees; the employee who exhibits the most use of personal protective equipment and safety practice will be awarded a prize.
- Seminar, Excerise, Material Distribution and Location Visits
Organized by: DIDCO Trading Company
The DIDCO Trading Company will hold a 1/2 day seminar on HIV/AIDS as well as a clean up excercise. Other activities inclue a condom and panphlet distribution and visit locations by Medex.

The Ministry of Local Government and Regional Development will mount banners around the workplace.
- Staff Training
Organized by: Professional Guard Service
The Professional Guard Service will hold special occupational safety and health training for staff.

Organized by: Aroaima Mining Company, Region 10
The Aroaima Mining Company, Region 10, will hold an occupational safety and health workshop on the 23rd of April.
