Interregional Tripartite Meeting of Experts

The ILO will convene a tripartite meeting of experts with selected Government, Employer and Worker delegates invited from Bangladesh, China, India, Pakistan and Turkey. The meeting originally scheduled for May, will now be held in Bangkok, from 7 - 14 October to review, revise and adopt "Guidelines on safety and health in shipbreaking". Technical specialists from major ship owning countries, observers and international agencies will also be invited to attend at their own expense. The draft text of the guidelines is available on this website. Any comments or observations you may care to make may be sent to Mr. Igor Fedotov or Mr. Paul Bailey before 30 July so that they might be reproduced and brought to the attention of the experts at the meeting in Bangkok.
