JISHA OSHMS Standards 2003 were developed by the Japan Industrial Safety and Health Association (JISHA) as tailored guidelines on OSH-MS for manufacturing and other industries, on the basis of the national OSH-MS guidelines issued by the competent authority on Occupational Safety and Health, namely the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare. Based on JISHA OSHMS Standards 2003, JISHA has been promoting the assessment of OSH-MS of individual companies (JISHA OSHMS Registration) as a key element of national OSH strategy.
