Statements

  • Select to magnify the image"The Global Compact and Public Private Partnerships offer an opportunity for business leaders the world over to demonstrate that there are business benefits to integrating social and financial goals, and that there are ways to manage costs or risks associated with this new approach. The end result will demonstrate that promoting decent work, human rights and the environment are all necessary steps toward a world in which markets, interacting with society and its stakeholders, help put poverty and human suffering out of business."
Juan Somavia, Director-General of the ILO
  • "Giving globalization a social face is a primary goal of German development policies. This requires the building of new global alliances and cooperation between governments, enterprises, employers' associations, trade unions and civil society."
Heidemarie Wieczorek-Zeul, German Federal Minister for Economic Cooperation and Development
  • "Care and co-responsibility for the health of our employees as part of the common value platform at all our plants worldwide is one of our fundamental and top-priority duties. Employees can only develop their full productivity and creativity in a company that is a living example of its social responsibility"
Dr. Pischetsrieder, Former Chairman of the Board of Management, Volkswagen AG
  • "We, as a management, decided that it was our duty to try and implement as many of the recommendations as possible. In just five days we had already implemented many of the recommendations without any large costs involved."
Mr. C. Gillet, Managing Director, ZEUS, South Africa
