TYPES OF
HAZARD /
EXPOSURE
ACUTE HAZARDS / SYMPTOMS      PREVENTION      FIRST AID / FIRE FIGHTING
FIRE Not combustible. Gives off irritating or toxic fumes (or gases) in a fire.   In case of fire in the surroundings: use appropriate extinguishing media.
EXPLOSION Risk of fire and explosion as a result of decomposition when heated.   In case of fire: keep drums, etc., cool by spraying with water.

EXPOSURE See EFFECTS OF LONG-TERM OR REPEATED EXPOSURE. AVOID ALL CONTACT!
Inhalation Sore throat. Cough. Closed system and ventilation. Fresh air, rest.
Skin   Protective gloves. Protective clothing. Remove contaminated clothes. Rinse and then wash skin with water and soap.
Eyes Redness. Pain. Severe effects. Safety goggles or face shield. First rinse with plenty of water (remove contact lenses if easily possible). Refer immediately for medical attention.
Ingestion Sore throat. Abdominal pain. Do not eat, drink, or smoke during work. Rinse mouth. Refer for medical attention.

SPILLAGE DISPOSAL PACKAGING & LABELLING
Personal protection: chemical protection suit including self-contained breathing apparatus. Do NOT let this chemical enter the environment. Collect leaking liquid in sealable containers. Absorb remaining liquid in sand or inert absorbent and remove to safe place. GHS classification

IMPORTANT DATA
Physical State; Appearance
COLORLESS TO LIGHT YELLOW, CLEAR, ODORLESS LIQUID

Chemical dangers
The substance decomposes under the influence of temperatures above 35° C producing toxic and corrosive fumes with fire or explosion hazard.

Occupational exposure limits
TLV not established.
MAK: skin absorption (H); sensitization of skin (Sh); Carcinogen category: 2 (DFG 2006).

Routes of exposure
The substance can be absorbed into the body in hazardous amounts through the skin, by inhalation of its aerosol, and by ingestion.

Inhalation risk
Evaporation at 20°C is negligible; a harmful concentration of airborne particles can, however, be reached quickly on spraying.

Effects of short-term exposure
The substance is severely irritating to the eyes and the respiratory tract.

Effects of long-term or repeated exposure
Repeated or prolonged contact may cause skin sensitization. The substance may have effects on the kidneys. This substance is probably carcinogenic to humans. Animal tests show that this substance possibly causes toxicity to human reproduction or development.

PHYSICAL PROPERTIES ENVIRONMENTAL DATA
Density: 1.1 g/cm³
Solubility in water: miscible
Octanol/water partition coefficient as log Pow: < -1.3
The substance is harmful to aquatic organisms. The substance may cause long-term effects in the aquatic environment. It is strongly advised that this substance does not enter the environment.

NOTES
Depending on the degree of exposure, periodic medical examination is suggested.
Do NOT take working clothes home.
