TYPES OF
HAZARD /
EXPOSURE
ACUTE HAZARDS / SYMPTOMS      PREVENTION         FIRE FIGHTING
FIRE Combustible. Liquid formulations containing organic solvents may be flammable. NO open flames. In case of fire in the surroundings: use appropriate extinguishing media.
EXPLOSION

EXPOSURE
Inhalation   Avoid inhalation of fine dust and mist. Fresh air, rest.
Skin   Protective gloves. Rinse skin with plenty of water or shower.
Eyes   Safety spectacles. First rinse with plenty of water for several minutes (remove contact lenses if easily possible), then take to a doctor.
Ingestion   Do not eat, drink, or smoke during work. Wash hands before eating. Rinse mouth. Rest.

SPILLAGE DISPOSAL PACKAGING & LABELLING
Do NOT let this chemical enter the environment. Sweep spilled substance into sealable containers; if appropriate, moisten first to prevent dusting. Carefully collect remainder, then remove to safe place. Personal protection: P1 filter respirator for inert particles.

EMERGENCY RESPONSE STORAGE
Provision to contain effluent from fire extinguishing.

IMPORTANT DATA
Physical State; Appearance
COLOURLESS TO WHITE CRYSTALS

Chemical dangers
The substance decomposes on burning producing toxic and corrosive fumes including hydrogen fluoride, nitrogen oxides, carbon monoxide.

Occupational exposure limits
TLV not established.
MAK not established.

Inhalation risk
Evaporation at 20°C is negligible; a nuisance-causing concentration of airborne particles can, however, be reached quickly on spraying or when dispersed, especially if powdered.

PHYSICAL PROPERTIES ENVIRONMENTAL DATA
Melting point: 100-107°C
Density: 1.3 g/cm³
Solubility in water, g/100 ml at 20°C: 0.001 (none)
Vapour pressure, Pa at 20°C: negligible
Octanol/water partition coefficient as log Pow: 3.7
The substance is toxic to aquatic organisms. Avoid release to the environment in circumstances different to normal use.

NOTES
If the substance is formulated with solvent(s) also consult the card(s) (ICSC) of the solvent(s).
Carrier solvents used in commercial formulations may change physical and toxicological properties.
Health effects of exposure to the substance have been investigated extensively but none have been found.
