| IMPORTANT DATA | Physical State; Appearance COLOURLESS GAS. Occupational exposure limits |
Routes of exposure The substance can be absorbed into the body by inhalation. Inhalation risk Effects of short-term exposure |
| PHYSICAL PROPERTIES | ENVIRONMENTAL DATA | Boiling point: 7°C Density: 1.6 g/l |
| NOTES | This substance is formed as a by-product in tetrafluoroethylene production and during thermal degradation of polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE/Teflon(R)) at approximately 425°C. The occupational exposure limit value should not be exceeded during any part of the working exposure. The symptoms of lung oedema often do not become manifest until a few hours have passed and they are aggravated by physical effort. Rest and medical observation are therefore essential. Immediate administration of an appropriate inhalation therapy by a doctor or a person authorized by him/her, should be considered. Card has been partly updated in April 2005. See section Notes. |
