FIRE Combustible. Liquid formulations containing organic solvents may be flammable. Gives off irritating or toxic fumes (or gases) in a fire. NO open flames. Powder, water spray, foam, carbon dioxide.

Chemical dangers
The substance decomposes on heating or on burning producing toxic and irritating fumes including nitrogen oxides, phosphorus oxides, sulfur oxides. Attacks copper.

Occupational exposure limits

Routes of exposure
The substance can be absorbed into the body by inhalation of its aerosol, through the skin and by ingestion.

Inhalation risk
Evaporation at 20°C is negligible; a harmful concentration of airborne particles can, however, be reached quickly on spraying or when dispersed, especially if powdered.

Effects of short-term exposure
The substance may cause effects on the nervous system, resulting in convulsions and respiratory failure. Cholinesterase inhibitor. Exposure may result in death. The effects may be delayed. Medical observation is indicated. See Notes.

The substance is very toxic to aquatic organisms. This substance may be hazardous to the environment; special attention should be given to its persistence in soil. This substance does enter the environment under normal use. Great care, however, should be given to avoid any additional release, e.g. through inappropriate disposal.

NOTES
No specific data on health hazard of this compound were available but many organophosphates are cholinesterase inhibitors (for instance, see ICSC 0172 on Malathion).
If the substance is formulated with solvents also consult the ICSCs of these materials.
Carrier solvents used in commercial formulations may change physical and toxicological properties.
