| IMPORTANT DATA | Physical State; Appearance CLEAR COLOURLESS LIQUID, WITH PUNGENT ODOUR. Occupational exposure limits |
Routes of exposure The substance can be absorbed into the body by inhalation of its vapour, through the skin and by ingestion. Inhalation risk Effects of short-term exposure Effects of long-term or repeated exposure |
| PHYSICAL PROPERTIES | ENVIRONMENTAL DATA | Boiling point: 101°C Melting point: -6°C Relative density (water = 1): 1.1 Solubility in water: miscible Vapour pressure, kPa at 20°C: 2.3 Relative vapour density (air = 1): 1.05 |
The substance is very toxic to aquatic organisms. |
| NOTES | The occupational exposure limit value should not be exceeded during any part of the working exposure. The symptoms of asthma often do not become manifest until a few hours have passed and they are aggravated by physical effort. Rest and medical observation are therefore essential. Anyone who has shown symptoms of asthma due to this substance should avoid all further contact with this substance. Also consult ICSC #0158 Glutaraldehyde. Card has been partly updated in October 2005. See sections Occupational Exposure Limits, Emergency Response. |
