IMPORTANT DATA
Physical State; Appearance
FIBROUS SOLID.

Occupational exposure limits
TLV: (as TWA) 1 f/cc A3 (ACGIH 1999).

Routes of exposure
The substance can be absorbed into the body by inhalation.

Inhalation risk
Evaporation at 20°C is negligible; a harmful concentration of airborne particles can, however, be reached quickly.

Effects of short-term exposure
The substance irritates the eyes, the skin and the respiratory tract.

Effects of long-term or repeated exposure
This substance is possibly carcinogenic to humans. The carcinogenic potential depends on the length, diameter, chemical composition and biological persistence of the fibre. Expert advice should be sought when working with this material.

PHYSICAL PROPERTIES ENVIRONMENTAL DATA
Solubility in water: none

NOTES
Slag wool is an amorphous silicate manufactured from slag. May contain a binder and an oil for dust suppression.
