CIS Occupational Safety and Health Glossary(From the Introduction to the printed publication)This glossary is the result of three decades of experience at CIS in analysing the world literature on occupational safety and health. It is aimed at translators, interpreters and safety and health practitioners who need to read or write professional literature in more than one language. Occupational safety and health is an interdisciplinary field, which uses specialist terms and expressions from subject areas as diverse as engineering, medicine, law, the physical sciences and psychology. This glossary includes terms from all these fields and more. Given the constraints of time, space and individual knowledge, we had to limit this publication to about 2600 main headings. Most of the range of occupational safety and health is covered, but we cannot claim to be complete in our coverage of any particular subject area... We have only included terms and expressions for which we were able to find equivalents in all five languages. A note of caution: this glossary is not based on any kind of a standardised vocabulary. We have taken terms and expressions from the literature as we found them, leaving aside obvious inaccuracies...
For a better idea on the format you can take a look at a few typical sample pages of the publication.
