CISDOC/CISILO - The CIS Bibliographic Database

The CIS bibliographic database contains about 65,000 citations of documents that deal with occupational accidents and diseases as well as ways of preventing them. The types of documents are: laws and regulations, chemical safety data sheets, training material, articles from periodical publications, books and standards. Every record contains a detailed bibliographic description, a full abstract and indexing descriptors drawn from the CIS Thesaurus. The CISDOC database is updated on a continuous basis.

The database is made available to the public via the Internet

  • via a free search interface on our site;
  • under the name CISDOC through OSH-ROM, a SilverPlatter product offered by Croner, and
  • under the name CISILO in two different formats by the Canadian Centre for Occupational Health and Safety: on the CCINFOWEB and on the ILOCIS servers.

Click on the database names for more details on access and pricing. Both vendors also offer our database on CD-ROM.

Latest additions to the CISDOC database appear in the ILO-CIS Bulletin entitled Safety and Health at Work. This online periodical continues the numerical sequence and classification scheme of its printed predecessor (published 1973-2003).
