A World Health Organization (WHO) draft Resolution on a Global Plan of Action on Workers’ Health 2008-2017 was adopted by the 60th session of the World Health Assembly held in Geneva, 14-23 May 2007. The aim of the Plan is to provide a policy framework for concerted action to protect, promote and improve the health of all workers.

SafeWork has actively participated in the preparation of the Plan through a number of technical meetings and inter-secretariat consultations and has pledged its full support and cooperation with WHO for its implementation. The proposed draft makes specific reference to the Promotional Framework for Occupational Safety and Health Convention, 2006 (No.187) and other ILO instruments on OSH.
