Regional meeting of the Ibero Latin-American CIS Centres in Argentina

The International Occupational Safety and Health Information Centre (CIS) organizes, jointly with its national Centre CIS in Argentina - the Superintendency of Occupational Risks (Superintendencia de Riesgos del Trabajo (SRT)) - a one day meeting involving Ibero Latin-American CIS Centres. The meeting will be held in Buenos Aires, Argentina, on April 25, 2006. Participants have been invited from the Ibero Latin-American, Spanish and Portuguese CIS Centres, and include a certain number of observers from the European Agency for Safety and Health at Work, the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) and the Toxicological Consultation Information Centre of Uruguay (Centro de Información y Asesoramiento Toxicológico (CIAT)).

This regional meeting will be devoted to the technical aspects, working methods and good practices of the Centres in terms of data-processing infrastructure and collection and dissemination of information. It will include a session on how to retrieve and disseminate information, including an online technical demonstration. Traditional CIS activities will also be presented and, most importantly, new products and forthcoming projects will be introduced.

The CIS meeting is being held in the context of the Argentinian Occupational Safety and Health Week celebrated between 21 and 28 April each year in commemoration of the adoption of the National Safety and Health Act and the World Day for Safety and Health at Work.
