New measures on occupational safety and health adopted by the ILC

Delegates to the 95th Session of the International Labour Conference (ILC) of the International Labour Organization (ILO) adopted a new Promotional Framework Convention on Occupational Safety and Health and accompanying Recommendation as well as a Resolution concerning exposure to asbestos [read more].

The Draft Report of the Committee on Safety and Health includes the texts of the new Convention and Recommendation and the Resolution on asbestos.

The ILC also held a session on the status of national laws and practices on matters related to labour inspection. The discussion took place on the basis of the result of General Survey conducted among the ILO member States on the application of the ILO Conventions and Recommendations on labour inspection. The Report of the Committee on the Application of Standards summarizes the discussion.
