The Andean Labour Institute is an organization dedicated to the investigation of labour matters, the dissemination of related information and training in the field. It is subordinate to the Andean Labour Consultative Council (Consejo Consultivo Laboral Andino (CCLA)). It was established in Lima in 1989 and it covers the following countries: Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru and Venezuela. The ILA website includes many publications and other documents concerning current events and activities in the Andean countries. The last to date is a ministerial resolution in Peru that was approved in accordance with the Law on Pregnancy Protection (Law nº 28048). In this resolution, the Labour Department of the Peruvian government accepted a list of physical, chemical, biological, ergonomic and psychosocial risks to the health of the pregnant worker and established a list of measures aimed at the healthy development of the foetus.
