IALI and IAPA conferences

The next annual conference of the International Association of Labour Inspection (IALI), organized jointly with the ILO, will be held in Toronto, Ontario, Canada on 18-20 April 2007. It is the first time that this Conference occurs in conjunction with the largest national occupational safety and health event: the Health & Safety Canada 2007 Conference and Trade Show organized by the Industrial Accident Prevention Association (IAPA) on 16-18 April 2007.

Occupational Health and Safety: from compliance to high performance is the theme of the IALI's conference. It will focus on innovations and challenges in managing labour inspection in the rapidly changing world of work. The conference will highlight the development and strengthening of labour inspection across developed, transitional and developing economy settings and will explore the critical elements of a modern occupational health and safety system as well as the role of the inspector.

Health & Safety Canada 2007 marks IAPA's 90th anniversary. The theme, Innovative Strategies for Safer and Healthier Workplaces, builds on the 2006 theme of healthy workplaces as the health and safety community comes together in one place to network, share knowledge and information and discuss strategies for applying the information in order to achieve workplace results.
